ROCINI - „Rostock Centre for Interdisciplinary Implant Research“
On April 9, 2019, the "Rostock Centre for Interdisciplinary Implant Research" (ROCINI) was founded on the occasion of a coordination meeting of the DFG Collaborative Research Center 1270 "ELectric-Active-ImplaNtatE" (ELAINE) at the University of Rostock.
The "Rostock Centre for Interdisciplinary Implant Research" (ROCINI) is designed as a virtual center where scientists and clinicians from the University of Rostock and the University Medical Center Rostock work together in the field of implant research in the musculoskeletal and neurological areas.
"Based on the Collaborative Research Center 1270 (SFB 1270) ELAINE, the networking and cooperation of different engineering and mathematical-scientific disciplines at the University of Rostock and the University Medical Center Rostock will be further strengthened and expanded with the establishment of a Center for Interdisciplinary Implant Research," said SFB spokesperson Professor Ursula van Rienen. The deputy spokesperson of the SFB, Professor Rainer Bader, adds: "The foundation of ROCINI is intended to ensure the sustainability of research within the Collaborative Research Center 1270 ELAINE and to focus on electrically active implants in terms of content."
The founding members of the new center are the professors involved in SFB 1270 ELAINE.
The foundation is a structural measure of the SFB 1270 ELAINE, which the German Research Foundation (DFG) funds with a total of 11.7 million euros in the first funding period from July 2017 to June 2021 and 12.4 million euros in the second funding period from July 2021 to July 2025.
The 13th board meeting takes place at the 4th of April 2023, 2:00 pm.
