In the Rostock Centre for Interdisciplinary Implant Research (ROCINI), scientists and clinicians from the University of Rostock work together with the Rostock University Medical Centre in the field of implant research in the musculoskeletal and neurological areas.
The tasks of the Rostock Centre for Interdisciplinary Implant Research are in particular:
- the strengthening of Rostock as a research location,
- the targeted promotion of interdisciplinary competence through stronger networking of research at Rostock University Medical Centre and the University of Rostock,
- the definition of joint research goals and application for third-party funding to carry out corresponding research projects,
- the translation of scientific results in the field of implant technology, especially in connection with the four sub-areas,
- public relations work and
- cooperation with other institutions.
ROCINI is divided into four subdivisions:
- Tissue Interaction
- Biological characterisation (in vivo/ in vitro/ clinical)
- Biofilm formation
- Dielectric properties of tissue
- Material
- Material development
- Mechanical characterisation
- Imaging/ non-destructive characterisation
- Modelling and Simulation
- Multiscale modelling
- Structural mechanical analyses
- Dynamic processes
- Smart Sensors and Actuators
